I guess it was kind of obvious that 3D casino’s were going to be the next best thing.  In this way online casinos will be able to fully recreate the feeling you get while visiting a swanky casino, and all of this while you are sitting in your vest and slippers.

A top of the line French hotel and casino network has asked Skywrite Communications to help them launch what they are claiming is the 1st ever 3D online casino.  The casino is said to be a precise replica/remake of Lucien Barrière’s brick and mortar casino, which is located in Deauville, France.

The Lucien Barrière group owns forty casinos and hundred hotels, and is launching this fresh new online casino next month. Skywrite PR agency, snapped up this lucrative 6-figure account from other competitors with the help of their great pitch.  Skywrite communications is mostly working on a client campaign, and plans to target the conventional gaming press, online media and lifestyle press.

The communication agency has also forged a media partnership with Shortlist magazine to help raise awareness of the online casino. LeCroupier.com is being pitched for beginner online casino players, as well as more practiced and experienced online and video gamers.

2 of the biggest Lucky18Casino.com progressive jackpots available to everyone, including USA players, have topped a million dollars in prize money. Jackpot Pinatas stands at almost 1.2 million US dollars and the jackpot called Aztec’s Millions has almost reached 1.1 million buckss.  The casino also has a third jackpot called Shopping Spree jackpot that could soon be worth a million bucks if nobody claims it soon.

Its great news that these huge jackpots are available to US players. Lucky18 is also the only Internet casino to accept Mastercard, Visa and Amex from all clients.

Casino representatives say that it seems like the general feeling is that these three jackpots are due to hit soon as its their most popular games at the moment. This of course means that these progressive jackpots have been growing very quickly as each player raises the jackpot a little further.

Jackpot Pinata is a 20-line online slot machine complete with bulls and beautiful señoritas. Its free spins, substitutes, wild symbols, and bonus game make this game a fantastic fiesta. If you are lucky enough to get 5 Bull Pinata symbols on any 1 of your pay lines, you will get the progressive jackpot prize.

Aztec’s Millions is a newish game that is still waiting for its 1st huge progressive jackpot winner. 3+ idol symbols will get you a free spin, and an idol during free spins will earn you a lot more free spins!

State lawmaker representatives from Houston, San Antonio and Dallas recently launched new plans for Vegas type destination resort casinos in the state of Texas.

The plans include allowing slot machines at the state’s current race tracks, and also allowing the 3 federally recognized Indian tribes to operate their own casino on the tribal lands.

Christian and conservative groups immediately opposed the idea, as was expected (by me Anyway.)

The plans would include twelve casinos throughout the state, with designated areas for 9 of them: Bexar County, Galveston, Tarrant County, South Padre Island, Travis County and 2 each in Harris and Dallas counties.

Tommy Azopardi, who opposes the plans, said this legislation would be the cause of a ‘widely disparate tax rate’ between tracks and casinos and would not allow for tracks to have identical games as casinos and that this would very much expand the footprint that gambling has in the Texan state.

People who backs casino’s said that tracks would be able to apply for a casino license but that they would have follow the same process as other applicants. Suzii Paynter, a Christian Life Commission of the Baptist General Convention representative, stated that casinos might be tough competition for family friendly businesses and that she fears they might be forced to close down as a result.

On the other hand, people backing the casino idea says that casinos will not result in social ills and that there will not be a higher crime rate or a rise in casino gambling addiction because of it.

Rumor has it that 2009 had not been a very good year, financially, for popular poker professional player, Phil Ivey. According to several online casino websites, he had lost over $2 million in 2009. It seems that things are starting to look up. He won $1.1 million in one night at the Full Tilt tables in a night session. Most of his earnings came from beating up on Tom “Durrr” Dwan. Prior to this win, he was having a hard time beating Sami “Lars Luzak” Kelopuro, who reportedly was the cause of many of his bigger losses this year.

My Comments: Well, I expected that popular and successful players would participate in high risk games, but losing over $2 million in two months is kind of disturbing. It shows that no matter how much money you make and how fast you earn it, you can lose it just as quickly. It makes you wonder if many of these guys (except the ones that have stakes in online casinos (owners, partnerships, etc.) are really broke. Can you imagine winning $5 million one month and losing $7 million the next? That would be an incredibly tough lifestyle to lead, especially for one’s family members and friends.

Well, the final table at the L.A. Poker Classic is all set. It includes some names that you recognize and others that you may not. Here is the quick break down:

First Place: Chris Karagulleyan–4,080,000 chips
Second Place: Mike Sowers—2,405,000 chips
Third Place: Pat Walsh—2,200,000
Fourth Place: Binh Nguyen 1,895,000
Fifth Place: Cornel Andrew Cimpan 1, 740,000
Sixth Place: Chris Ferguson (yeah!!)—1,565,000

I posted yesterday that Chris Ferguson was in the lead at the L.A. Poker Classic going into the fight for the final round. Well, he has survived the final 6 but is way down in the chip count. The individual in the lead, Chris Karagulleyan, is really taking it to the competition and will be difficult to catch.

Chris Karagulleyan has a chip count of 4, 080,000, almost doubling the person in second place and more then doubling Chris Ferguson. Karagulleyan may be familiar to some poker fans because he was the WPT Legends of Poker champion in 2002, the tours first season. It looks like he is in pretty good position to add another championship title to his resume. We will know pretty soon if he is able to hold on, but it looks pretty good. We’ll keep an eye out on the final results and keep you all updated.

The first week of March has been designated as National Problem Gambling Awareness Week. This is a time where gambling addiction professionals educate the public about the warning signs that someone might have a problem with gambling. It is not an anti-gambling week, more of a responsible gaming and support forum.

There will information and resources provided for those that are interested regarding where help can be had both locally and nationally. Individuals that suffer from gambling addiction, or who suspect that they might, will be able to learn about the warning signs and what actions to take in order to get their life back under control.

Studies have shown that somewhere between 6 and 9 million people will have problems with gambling and may even become addicted every year. There are a myriad of issues that are connected with such addictions, many which go beyond merely losing money. Individuals and the families of gambling addicts will often suffer from domestic problems and even abuse. The strain of financial loss and disagreements about trips to the casino or playing online, can get pretty heated. A large number of couples will end up getting divorced and families will be broken if the gambling addict does not get the help that they need to get their lives back on track.

a. Two dog owners were bragging about the intelligence of their pets. ‘The brightest dog I ever had,’ said one, ‘was a Great Dane that could play cards. He was a whiz at poker, but I had him put to sleep.’

‘You had him put to sleep, a bright dog like that? A dog like that would be worth a million dollars.’

‘Had to,’ the man replied. ‘Caught him using marked cards!’

b. A man walks into a bar and notices a poker game at the far table. Upon taking a closer look he sees a dog sitting at the table. This piques his curiosity, so he walks closer and sees cards and chips in front of the dog.

The next hand is dealt and cards are dealt to the dog just like everybody else. The dog acts in turn with all of the other players: calling, raising, discarding, and doing everything that the human players are doing.

Oddly, none of the other players seems to pay any mind to the fact that they are playing with a dog. They treat him just like any other player.

Finally, the man can no longer contain his curiosity, so between hands he says quietly to one of the human players, ‘I can’t believe that dog is playing poker! He must be the smartest dog in the world!’

The player smiles and says, ‘He’s not that smart. Every time he gets a good hand he wags his tail.’

A Man Wins the Lottery

A man rushes into his house and yells to his wife, “Martha, pack up your things. I just won the state lottery!”

Martha replies, “Shall I pack for warm weather or cold?”

The man responds, “I don’t care. Just so long as you’re out of the house by noon!”

The Blonde and the Two Dealers

Two bored dealers are waiting around for someone to walk up and try their luck at the craps table. A very attractive lady comes in and wants to bet twenty-thousand dollars on a single roll of the dice. The dealers agree.

She says, “I hope you don’t mind, but I feel much luckier when I’m half naked.” With that she strips naked from the waist down, and rolls the dice while yelling, “Momma needs a new pair of pants!” She then begins jumping up and down and hugging each of the dealers.

“YES! I WIN! I WIN!” With that she picks up her money and clothes and quickly leaves.

The dealers just stare at each other dumbfounded. Finally one of them asks, “What did she roll anyway?” The other answers, “I don’t know. I thought YOU were watching the dice!”

As so many people are opening up and running online casinos these days, I often find lots of them a bit middle of the road or blasé. That’s why I love casino awards that show us that some online casinos still go the extra mile.

The point in case being the Gambling Pharaoh online casino portal 2009 Online Gambling Awards. Jackpot Factory online casino group was awarded the “Best Reputation” online casino award. Their exclusive affiliate program aptly named BrightShare, also also won an award for “Best Affiliate Program.”

Gambling Pharaoh stated that they gave Jackpot Factory Group their top honors because they are brilliant at quickly paying out prizes to winning casino players. BrightShare, on the other hand, has created a brilliant partnership with some of the best online casinos, and they are also prized for their vast variety of marketing material and generous promotions they provide their affiliate members and its clients.

The Jackpot Factory online casino group also recently won the Casnomeister’s prize of “Best Casino Group”, and also walked away with this prize the previous year. Jackpot Factory’s online casinos include All Jackpots Casino, All Slots Casino, Wild Jack Casino, VIP Lounge Casino, and First Web Casino, all of which are powered by the Microgaming online casino platform.

Some gambling addict experts are wondering whether it’s a good idea to bring a new Keno game to bars in PEI and Nova Scotia. One says that the new betting game could prove to be extremely addictive, eve though people think of it as low risk.

A company called Atlantic Lottery Corp. hopes to launch an electronic version of keno in two hundred pubs and restaurants in March. Players take part in the casino type keno game by buying keno tickets at the bar counter, and the winning numbers are shown on screen a couple of minutes later.

An Atlantic Lottery Corp. rep said that keno draws will be held every 5 mins from 12 to 12, with the max bet being ten bucks per draw. The problem is that there is no limit on how much casino player can spend per day.

A problem-gambling counselor called Elizabeth Stephen, told CBC News she was not happy to learn the company’s plan to introduce electronic keno.

The Nova Scotia Gaming Corp. who is in charge of gaming in the area, have previously done studies on multi-draw electronic keno. It 2007, the corporation decided that NS would not sport electronic keno because it lures high-risk players.

A Corporation spokesperson, Krista Grant, said that the current electronic casino keno varies from the version that they originally rejected.
